Staples of a Marathon Diet

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 12:00 am

If you’re training for a marathon you’ve likely made some changes in your lifestyle. Cut back on the Direct Tv , stuck to a rigorous running schedule and most importantly, improved your diet. But the real question is, are you eating the right foods? It’s simple, but these should be the mainstays of your training diet
Whole Grains: Carbs are good! They help you gain energy as your body breaks them down and when you eat whole grains your body works harder to digest them and keeps you running longer. The day before the race, of course, you’ll want to have some pasta.
Lean Protein: Think chicken, salmon and turkeyyeah, the boring stuff. The leaner your protein the better it converts into energy for you body and the less weight you’ll put on in the process. Protein is the building block of a successful training regimen.
Hydrate: Are you drinking enough water? No, seriously, at least 100oz a day? You should be drinking twice that on days you run and on days offkeep on chugging.
